SENIOR PASTOR - Altamahaw Baptist Church is seeking a Senior Pastor. 

​

Job Description

He must meet the Biblical qualifications of pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-10. His beliefs shall be consistent with Altamahaw Baptist Church’s Articles of Faith and the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.

The pastor shall serve as the chief under-shepherd and overseer of this local church, feeding, leading and nurturing the sheep. He is to live the Christian life as the example for those whom he leads.  He is responsible to the Lord and the church to primarily proclaim the gospel and teach Scripture.  He is also to engage in pastoral care and provide supervisory leadership in all areas of the church.

This person’s main responsibilities will be to communicate God’s Word, minister to spiritual needs, and provide biblical leadership for the church.

 

Special Requirements:

1. Converted and called to the pastoral ministry.

2. Ordained as a minister of the Gospel with a College-level degree and/or Seminary training.

3. Spiritual and personal integrity and maturity.

4. Ability and willingness to share Christ and disciple others.

5. Positive human relations skills.

6. Obvious motivational skills.

7. Ability to communicate well through a pulpit ministry.

8. Proven love for the fellowship of a local church.

9. Ability to empathize with the deep concerns of the congregation.

 

 Duties – Responsibilities:

1. Proclaim the Word of God in a regular pulpit ministry.

2. Oversee pastoral staff. Provide direction for the church program.

3. Provide leadership and vision for the church. Direct plans for ministry and church growth; develop and fine-tune the church structure based on the Team philosophy of ministry.

4. Motivate, equip and nurture the people of the church through example, the preaching and teaching of God’s Word and spiritual counseling.

5. Spend significant time in prayer and Bible study.

6. Facilitate the contact/visitation of hospitalized or grieving members.

7. Officiate at weddings and funerals.

8. Oversee church discipline and manage conflict in the church. Seek to reconcile relationships and promote unity within the church.

9. Participate in evangelism efforts through preaching and giving invitations during worship services, revival or other special services, visitation and other outreach efforts.

10. To manage his money with integrity so as not to bring reproach upon the church.

11. The Pastor, when possible, shall moderate all business meetings of the church.

12. Work with various standing and special committees in accomplishing their respective duties. Attend Church Counsel planning meetings.

13. Lead in observance of the ordinances of the church.

14. Cooperate with local, state, and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern; keep the church informed of denominational developments; represent the church in denominational and civic matters.

Pastoral candidates agree to criminal/moral and financial background checks. 

 

The Pastor is allowed two (2) weeks vacation, two (2) revivals, and two (2) weeks sick leave per year with the church paying the supply.

SENIOR PASTOR - Oak Grove Baptist Church is seeking a Senior Pastor.

Established in 1936, Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mebane, NC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Mount Zion Association. They is prayerfully seeking a passionate man of God to serve as Pastor for our small but growing congregation.

The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, Spirit-led sermons; demonstrate strong knowledge of God's Word; guide and motivate members toward shared goals; maintain meaningful contact with the congregation, including the sick and shut-in; lead community outreach efforts; and communicate effectively with all ages.
