Established in 1936, Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mebane, NC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Mount Zion Association. They is prayerfully seeking a passionate man of God to serve as Pastor for our small but growing congregation.
The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, Spirit-led sermons; demonstrate strong knowledge of God's Word; guide and motivate members toward shared goals; maintain meaningful contact with the congregation, including the sick and shut-in; lead community outreach efforts; and communicate effectively with all ages. MINISTER OF MUSIC - Antioch Baptist Church in Chapel Hill is seeking a part-time Minister of Music.
This is a salaried position (nominally 10-15 hours per week) with salary dependent on experience. We will
consider hiring on an interim basis to engage an individual as quickly as possible.
Minimum qualifications:
1. Committed disciple of Jesus Christ, seeking to know, love and serve people, and also
committed to continual spiritual growth.
2. Passion and vision for developing a music ministry program who views music as an
integral part of worship.
3. Proven experience in leading praise and worship, preferably in a church setting.
4. Ability to lead, inspire and engage the congregation during the worship experience.
5. Flexibility and the ability to work effectively with church staff and members, and flow with
last-minute changes.
6. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
7. Strong vocal and musical skills, with the ability to lead worship using soundtracks, piano, organ, and other instruments.
8. Satisfactory compliance with all Antioch Baptist Church conditions of employment as
described in the Personnel Handbook including agreement with the Employee Lifestyle
Agreement.
9. Applicants will be subject to a Criminal Background Check before formal hiring.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Select appropriate worship songs that align with the theme and message of the Sunday morning worship service.
2. Direct a weekly rehearsal with the choir and musicians.
3. Work with the Technology committee to ensure audio equipment is set-up and ready on Sunday morning.
4. Identify new musical opportunities and provide occasions for congregational musicians
and singers to share and exercise their talents and gifts.
5. Recruit members for vocal groups, soloists and musicians for regular services or other
musical programs
6. Foster a spirit of worship and reverence among the worship team and congregation.
7. As ex-officio member of the Music Committee you will attend meetings and work
together to: plan and coordinate budget requests and expenses; advise and consult
concerning special worship and music programs; order and maintain musical
instruments and supplies.
8. Stay connected with current trends in worship music and incorporate them into services as appropriate.
9. Contribute to church-wide, ministry-wide, and campus events as needed.
